Scripture To Think About: Proverbs 1:7-19

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Listen my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching. They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck. My son, if sinners entice you, do not give into them. If they say "Come along with us; let's lie in wait for someone's blood, let's waylay some harmless soul; let's swallow them alive, like the grave, and whole, like those who go down to the pit; we will get all sorts of valuable things and fill our houses with plunder; throw in your lot with us, and we will share a common purse" - my son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths; for their feet rush into sin, they are swift to shed blood. How useless to spread a net in full view of all the birds! These men lie in wait for their own blood; they waylay only themselves! Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the lives of those who get it.

Recently, I had gotten an email from one of the Crawford Broadcasting Company engineers regarding the huge number of copper theft incidents going on nationwide. I emailed the engineers about the fact that someone will sooner or later end up electrocuting himself and get cooked in the burglary beyond recognition; in other words, the thief will end up looking like roadkill. Well, that happened on the morning of March 31, 2008, when some thief broke into an industrial building in El Monte California. This guy broke in early morning to steal the copper wires from the electrical box; however, this guy got cocky, and apparently did not turn off the electrical circuits. Needless to say, he shocked himself to death, and set the building on fire. This thief had gotten burned beyond recognition, and the authorities said that they couldn't even use any dental records to identify him. He got cooked beyond recognition!!! Let this be a lesson for anyone who is thinking about doing something evil...it has a way of catching up to you in some of the strangest ways! Imagine what he had to say when he went into God's presence right after he attempted to burglarize that business. If I died while committing a sin, I'd certainly be afraid of what I would be answering to!
